Acceptable Use Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") sets out the conduct expected of every user of the Satmart marketplace and related services (the "Services"), operated by Specialist Electronics Ltd. It forms part of, and is enforceable as if it were set out in, our Terms of Service. A breach of this AUP is a breach of the Terms and may lead to suspension or termination of your Account, cancellation of Orders, refusal of refunds, and (where appropriate) referral to regulators or law-enforcement.

1. General principles

You must use the Services in a lawful, honest and respectful manner. You must not use the Services in a way that exposes us, our staff, our suppliers, our shipping partners, our other users, or the public to legal, financial, security or reputational harm. Doubt resolves against you: if conduct is plausibly prohibited under this AUP, do not engage in it without first asking us in writing.

2. Prohibited activity

You must not, and must not assist or knowingly permit any other person to:

  • Use the Services to pay for, transport, distribute or facilitate any activity that is unlawful under the laws of the United Kingdom, your country of residence, or any jurisdiction whose law materially applies to the transaction, including (without limitation) money laundering, terrorist financing, fraud, tax evasion, theft, child sexual abuse material, or trafficking in persons, weapons, narcotics or counterfeit goods.
  • Submit, attempt to submit, or otherwise rely on identity documents that are forged, altered, stolen, expired, or that you are not entitled to use; impersonate any other person; or create more than one Account for the same natural person without our prior written consent.
  • Provide false, misleading or incomplete information at registration, checkout, payout, KYC or in any communication with us, including false declarations about the recipient of goods, the source of funds, the country of residence or the intended use of products.
  • Circumvent or attempt to circumvent any technical, geographic, sanctions, KYC or fraud-prevention control we operate, including by routing through a VPN solely to evade a country block, by using straw buyers, by structuring orders below review thresholds, by using stolen payment instruments to fund Cryptocurrency on-ramps, or by exploiting promotional codes contrary to their stated terms.
  • Use the Services in or for the benefit of any country subject to comprehensive sanctions (see the Sanctions & Restricted Countries page) or for the benefit of any person on a sanctions, watch-list or terrorist-financing list maintained by the UK, EU, US (OFAC) or UN.
  • Resell goods purchased through the Services in breach of manufacturer or export controls, in breach of consumer-protection or safety laws applicable in the destination country, or as part of a price-arbitrage scheme designed to exploit promotional pricing or per-customer limits.
  • Use the Services to send, store or transmit any material that is unlawful, defamatory, obscene, harassing, deceptive, infringing of intellectual-property rights, harmful to minors, or that could foreseeably cause distress or damage to any person.
  • Interfere with, disrupt, probe, scan, reverse-engineer, attempt to gain unauthorised access to, or otherwise compromise the integrity or security of the Services or any system or network connected to them, including by uploading malware, by exploiting vulnerabilities other than through a documented responsible-disclosure channel, by conducting denial-of-service attacks, or by attempting to extract personal data of other users.
  • Use automated means (scripts, bots, scrapers, headless browsers) to access the Services in a way that imposes a disproportionate load on the infrastructure, to enumerate or collect user data, to monitor pricing for resale, or to gain an unfair advantage in time-limited drops or promotions.
  • Submit user content (reviews, ratings, chat messages) that you know to be false, that is designed to manipulate the visibility of a product, that promotes a competitor, that contains personal data of any other person without their consent, or that breaches any other provision of this AUP.
  • Re-identify, attempt to re-identify, or distribute personal data made available to you in connection with the Services beyond the purpose for which it was made available (for example, the recipient details of a gift order).
  • Use the Services in any way that constitutes an unfair commercial practice or that is intended to gain a benefit you would not be entitled to under the Terms of Service.

3. Reporting and responsible disclosure

3.1 Reporting abuse

If you become aware of activity that breaches this AUP — including listings that appear fraudulent, accounts you suspect of impersonation, or content that should not be on the Services — please report it to [email protected] with as much detail as you can. We treat reports as confidential and may follow up for clarification.

3.2 Security vulnerabilities

If you believe you have found a security vulnerability in the Services, please contact [email protected] with a "[Security]" prefix in the subject line. We will acknowledge within two business days and work with you in good faith. Please do not exploit the vulnerability beyond the minimum needed to demonstrate it, do not access, modify or download data that is not your own, and do not publish details before we have had a reasonable opportunity to investigate and remediate. We do not currently operate a paid bug-bounty programme; we publicly credit researchers who responsibly disclose where they wish.

4. Consequences of breach

Where we determine, acting reasonably, that you have breached this AUP we may take one or more of the following actions: cancel or refuse to accept an Order; suspend or terminate your Account; withhold or recover Store Credit or promotional grants; refuse to issue a refund where the breach is connected with the refund request; report you to a regulator, law-enforcement agency or to the issuer of any payment instrument; and seek injunctive relief or damages.

Where applicable law allows, we will give you notice before suspending or terminating your Account and a reasonable opportunity to respond. Where the breach is serious (for example, suspected fraud, sanctions evasion, security attacks or activity that we are required to report under POCA or the Terrorism Act), we may act immediately and without prior notice.

5. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Specialist Electronics Ltd and its officers, directors, employees and agents from any loss, liability, claim or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to your breach of this AUP.

6. Changes

We may update this AUP from time to time. The current version is identified by the "Last updated" date below the title. Continued use of the Services after the change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the revised AUP.
